The Role of Nature in Nurturing Mental Health: Designing Workspaces that Support Employee Well-Being
Understanding Mental Health in the Workplace
Mental health is a state of mental well-being
that enables people to cope with the stresses of life, realize their abilities,
learn well and work well, and contribute to their community
Mental health in an organization refers to the
psychological, emotional, and social well-being of employees within the
workplace. It encompasses how individuals think, feel, and behave in a work
environment, as well as how they handle stress, relate to others, and make
decisions. A positive mental health environment promotes healthy work-life
balance, open communication, and support for employees’ mental health needs. The
organizational dimensions “Active listening” and “Collaborative interpersonal
relationships” reached high scores and are also typically promoted among users
of mental health services. These dimensions are essential components of
effective practice and are actively encouraged among users of these services
